Just happened to drive by Squire Rockwell's last weekend on the way to something else. At a glance, it would seem that the building, which succumbed to fire a little while ago, has now been demolished.

The squire, it seems, has retired for good.

No word on what the site is to become as of yet.

Even in its present state, the Squire is still ready for a good party.

Squire Rockwell's isn't exactly the most historic of establishments, but it was for at least 40 years a popular haunt amongst Fairfax County locals. The restaurant suffered a devastating fire last summer, and is currently shuttered. It's not clear at this point whether the owners intend to rebuild the property or not, but if they do, I am willing to bet that there are plenty of Fairfaxians who would love to visit it again.
